My Story
For years, I lived by roles. Professional. Wife. Mother. Caregiver. And while I was busy showing up for everyone else, I slowly lost touch with myself.
Painting found me during a season of change, not as a career plan, but as a quiet return to who I was beneath all the expectations. What began as a personal escape slowly became a journey of rediscovery, healing, and expression.
Today, I create art for people who are evolving too. For those standing at the edge of change. For those rebuilding confidence. For those trying to reconnect with parts of themselves they've silenced for too long.
After years of showing up for everyone else, I had quietly lost touch with myself. Painting became the place where I could be honest again, where I could find myself through the work, layer by layer, the way life actually unfolds.
About The Artist
Babita Sridhar works with oils, acrylics, charcoal, spray paint, and mixed media, building her canvases intuitively, in layers, much as clarity forms through uncertainty. Abstract grounds are laid first, spontaneous and unplanned. Then, slowly, figurative forms emerge from within them. Koi navigating open water. Sea turtles mid-pause. A betta turning toward light. These creatures of quiet endurance are not simply subjects, they are emotional proxies for how we move through life: adapting, pausing, enduring, yet deeply alive.
Her paintings map the place where inner lives and outer journeys meet - the uncertainty of transitions, the courage to adapt, and the slow, tender work of becoming a better version of ourselves. She paints animals to tell these human stories. And in doing so, she gives form to the feelings we carry but rarely name.
Her current body of work, "Beyond Emergence", reflects a quieter evolution, moving beyond survival and into presence, awareness, and self-reclamation. Through these works, she invites viewers to pause and reconnect with parts of themselves often buried beneath expectation, routine, and noise.
Born in India and based in Singapore, Babita spent eighteen years in corporate IT before becoming a full-time artist. She has exhibited locally across Singapore and internationally including World Art Dubai (2024, 2025, 2026), The Other Art Fair Los Angeles (2026), and Affordable Art Fair Hong Kong (2026). She is the co-founder of Boundless Art Gallery, established in Singapore in 2025, a contemporary gallery championing meaningful and emotionally resonant art. She donates a portion of her sales to causes that reflect her belief that art is both healing and purposeful.
Her works are held in private collections across Singapore, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, Los Angeles and Hong Kong by collectors who recognise in her aquatic worlds something deeply familiar: the quiet strength it takes to keep moving beneath the surface.
